Essential Duas for Hajj & Umrah
The best journeys are those enriched with constant remembrance of Allah. Here are the authentic duas for every stage of your pilgrimage.
1. The Talbiyah - Your Constant Companion
Meaning: Here I am O Allah, here I am. You have no partner, here I am. Verily all praise, grace and dominion belong to You. You have no partner.
When to recite: Continuously from entering Ihram until you begin stoning on Eid day
2. Upon Seeing the Kaaba
Allahumma zid hadhal-bayta tashreefan wa ta'dheeman wa takreeman wa mahabah
Meaning: O Allah, increase this House in honor, dignity, reverence and awe.
Tip: This is a special moment - make any personal dua as this is an accepted time!
3. At the Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad)
Bismillahi wallahu Akbar
Meaning: In the name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest.
4. Between Yemeni Corner and Black Stone
Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina adhaban-nar
Meaning: Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.
This is the ONLY specific dua required during Tawaf. For the rest, make any dua you wish!
5. At Safa and Marwah
Innas-Safa wal-Marwata min sha'a'irillah
Meaning: Indeed, Safa and Marwah are among the symbols of Allah.
After climbing Safa, face the Kaaba and say:
6. On the Day of Arafat
The best dua on the best day:
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The best dua is the dua of the Day of Arafat, and the best thing I and the Prophets before me said is: La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la shareeka lah..."
7. When Stoning the Jamarat
